Summer's Almost Here!

Austin's last day of school, graduating from the 'bunny' class. Your class had memorized some songs and had a little ceremony - quite cute! Here's Teachers Kaye (right) and Laurie who are such nuturing, patient teachers - they love these 2 & 3 yr olds!
Andrew showing me what they've been up to in class. These will become butterflies that they get to release when it's time.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!
DJ'S last day of 4th grade & Andrew's last day of 1st grade!
Austin in typical fashion doesn't like to get out of his p.j.'s until his bro's leave for school.

Krispie Kreme's after mass... let the sugar rush begin....

SPRING BALL '08 - Sammamish Little League. Atlanta Braves.

The undefeated Braves... Coach Dave handed out trophies celebrating a perfect season. Now onto Summer Ball!! Austin tries on some catching gear, then runs around the cul-de-sac like this for hours!
Can there ever be a day without fighting in the Moore house?TIME OUT for these two....
OK... out of time out & agreeing to get along

Naples, Florida

Naples, Florida

April 2008

Had a great time in sunny Florida visiting Grandma and Grandpa Moore (also visiting Florida from Boston). The name of this beach escapes my memory but cousins Kayleigh and Ryan (who had just been there before us) left us a note to check it out before we left.

Grandpa making an amazing recovery from pancreatitis - it was so good to see him back on his feet and playing golf!

Boys... you look like ya haven't seen sun in a while! What's the matter... from Seattle? In your down time from all the swimming & golf you guys learned poker... by day 2 you were playing for marshmallows - only problem was Austin walking around the table stealing marshmallows from the piles.

Looking for Gators! We're in Gator Alley so thought we might as well do what tourists do..... take the Everglades airboat tour. The boys haven't been able to stop talking about alligators since we got here... not that Dad hasn't been hyping up gators prior to the trip or anything! Wouldn't recommend an airboat tour to anyone - Why? Didn't see a single alligator the entire 1 hr. tour, the boat driver just about tipped us over several times (acted like it was all part of the experience) & come to find out later that night at the Emergency Room (that's a different story) our ER doctor says she sees people in there all the time from airboat accidents & she'd personally never go on one. OK then!

Leaving the airboat tour, we drove a mile up the road, got out & saw this cool gator lazing in the sun. Some nice tourists like ourselves offered to take our picture with the gator in the background - the boys had just put their gator-tooth necklaces on from back at the tour shop (another reason not to go!).... the word 'gator' is just plain fun to say... that's why I'm using the word as much as I can. Glad we left Austin back safely with Grandma & Grandpa as he could have become lunch for this gator. On the way back to the house... Andrew & I counted 47 gators along the freeway ditch.... highlight of the trip!!

ER visit! With 3 boys it's bound to happen. Don't have a picture of it (just some videotape at the local ER).... In a nutshell: DJ, Andrew and Dad messing around in the pool playing tag. DJ get's thrown by Dad over his shoulder (holding Austin in the other arm) neither of them realizing there's a concrete island right there. DJ comes out with a large gash over his left eyebrow.... rush to the ER to get 10 stiches from a great doctor. Dave felt so bad.... DJ was just happy it happened the day before we left and not when we first got there... would have really cramped the vacation for him not to be able to use the awesome pool the whole week. He told everybody at school the following Monday (still with a huge bandage over his eyebrow) "An alligator bit me - lucky I gotta out of there- psyche"

Taking a siesta under a cabana - perfect end to a great vacation! Thanks Mom & Dad - would love to make this an annual trip!

Austin turns 3!

March 2008
Look who's 3! The baby of the family & quiet the character - keeping up with your 2 older brothers.

Your favorite cartoon: 'Go Diego Go'

Favorite book: 'Where's Bunny's mommy?'

Preschool: at 'In the Beginning' 2 mornings a week

Funny stuff: singing 'take me out to the ballgame' but interchanging 'root, root, root for the Yankees' instead of Red Sox to get a reaction out of Dad. Also love to get a 'beat down' - wrestling with DJ, Andrew or Dad. Also showing off your spanish - you know at least 25 words and use them in perfect context.
Habits that haven't gone away!: sucking your finger (always the left pointer finger) However, you were pretty easy to potty-train & have been fully out of diapers for 3 months now so I can't complain! Always lots of laughter when you're around - lots of love & Happy Birthday to our 3 yr old!!

Opening presents with the help of cousin Ava and your brothers

A big hug from Grandma! G-ma & Pa love having us live nearby. They get to watch you grow up & share in lots of special times. We moved to Seattle (Sammamish- 20 min East of the city) inAug. 2004 (2 months pregnant with you at the time) You know what they say - "new house, new baby!"

Grandma Great is here to help celebrate too. She's visiting from Idaho and has to go home next week. We're so glad to have her here for a while!

Also had a little b-day celebration with your favorite buddies - Beck, Luke, Ella, Ryder, Tyler and Garrett!

Our Arizona Trip

Sedona, Arizona.

When you think of Arizona landscape, Sedona is the perfect spot with all the cool rocks and awesome cacti. This is half way point on our drive to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix.
DJ, Andrew and Austin loved hanging out with their 3 cousins, Jake, Dylan, and Carter.
Uncle Pat took us to a river where we stopped to have lunch and see who could skip their rocks the farthest.

Grand Canyon Sunset

Made it to the Grand Canyon by late afternoon & it was freezing! Took a quick picture of the sunset before heading back to the hotel. The Canyon's amazing (hadn't been since I went with my family back in college). Dave and I had a blast taking our boys to see it for the first time.

Spent the day exploring the South Canyon from different viewpoints. Look at this crew at the back of the bus. Was glad to get back to Phoenix without losing one off the edge! This is in the a.m. - by the afternoon it's sunny, 'shorts & t-shirt' weather.

What trip would be complete without In & Out Burger! I believe we ate at 3 different In & Out locations during our 6 day trip to Arizona. Maybe it's part nostalgia of our Southern California college days, but.... they DO have yummy burgers!

Seattle Mariner Spring Training
Got within what Andrew called "spitting distance" to Ichiro, got some cool autographs... Eric Bedard being the 'biggest' - he was leaving the parking lot as we were leaving & was nice enough to roll down his window and give a few autographs. It was early spring training - the players practiced from 9-noon then called it a day... off to golf or whatever. Looks like a pretty sweet life! We left at noon, hit In & Out Burger (again).. ..DJ was tired of In & Out Burger so he walked to Chick Filet next door. Then to the airport to head back to Seattle! Thanks for a great Arizona trip Uncle Pat, Aunt Nikki and cousins! You guys showed us around Anthem & kept us super busy... parks, basketball, golf, rock-climbing at the community center & jumping on the backyard trampoline in our 'down-time'. We did a ton in 5 days! Dave even ran his own mini spring training camp with the boys.. taking advantage of the awesome weather and baseball fields that Sammamish, WA. doesn't have in the spring. We may have to make Arizona an annual trip!
